The single most important thing you can do to keep our democracy is to participate in the voting process. Isn't that what defines democracy?
Voting is a two-step process.
Step 1: Be informed
It is easy to be overwhelmed by the barrage of news and information we are exposed to on a daily basis. It is also easy to fall into the trap of getting information from one or two sources, sources that support what we believe, and from people who think they know something when they actually don't. Pick a handful of reliable sources that provide different viewpoints. To help make this selection, see the page on finding reliable sources of information.

I do not recommend visiting the website for the White House (Executive Branch). It is not impartial.
